What is discouragement?
It is the disapproval, the rejection, the devaluation, and demotivation. In our lifetime, we all come across people who always have something negative to say, such as: “It’s not a good idea”, “I see you falling”, “You are not going anywhere with this plan”, “It’s not worth your time”, and what not. Basically, this is discouragement.
Discouragement is not just people around us, but it can come from within ourselves too. Everyone in this world faces discouragement; it’s not only you or me, but, it’s everyone. So, the question here is, “Can we stop people from discouraging us?” The answer is, “Why not?”. Here are 3 tips that would help you overcome discouragement.
Tip no. 1: SPEND MORE TIME WITH PEOPLE WHO ENCOURAGE YOU
So, there are two kinds of people around us; ones who say, “You got it! You can do it!”. And the others who say, “You can’t! Your ideas are shit!”.
It is the high time for you to realize that you need to surround yourself with people who always have a word to encourage you and have a positive influence on you.
Tip no. 2: THINK BIG, START SMALL
A lot of us get discouraged in our life because we always expect the good results too soon. Take small steps, so whenever you achieve something in your life, even if it is small, you get this feeling of accomplishment in you. Let me tell you this: Nothing in this world comes easy.
If you are living in North America, you probably get these spam calls about winning $50,000. Those of you who are always looking for a shorter path to becoming a millionaire, would surely get into the trap of these spams. So, here is the word of advice: Have realistic expectations. Because you get nothing by relying on the shortcuts.
Tip no. 3: TAKE A BREAK
If you are working so much that you are not taking out time for yourself, then you need to take a break. Give your mind sometime to relax, so that it can work better. I mean seriously, love your work but love yourself too. Try to spent time on yourself; If you work for 10 hours or 12 hours a day, take out at least 2 hours to do something different. That can be anything: Your hobby or something that relax you, like swimming, painting, singing, or simply watching a movie.
